Hypnosis Hypnotherapy: Response of the Body
Hypnosis hypnotherapy is defined as a normal psychological state of consciousness, which is both similar and different from being awake and being sleep. This state of consciousness is produced by the presence of a central focus of attention and surrounding areas of inhibition.
The response of the body to hypnosis hypnotherapy occurs in three ways:
- Firstly, under hypnosis hypnotherapy there is an increased concentration. Our mind is scattered during normal awake state, and as a result any suggestions made during awake also gets scattered. While you are under hypnotic trance, you mind is focused and as a result any suggestions are accepted easily.
- Secondly, under hypnosis hypnotherapy, our body is relaxed. Most of the induction for hypnosis hypnotherapy starts with progressive muscular relaxation technique. These techniques relax your body and mind completely by tensing specific muscles and relaxing.
- Thirdly, during hypnosis hypnotherapy, there is an increased acceptance to suggestions. This is the result of the first two steps i.e. with the concentration on mind and relaxation of body. The mind becomes high receptive to suggestions. It is now in a position to imagine and see things more clearly. Critical analysis power of the mind reduces. On the other hand, a person never loses complete control of their functions.
Various Psychological Level of the Mind
Our mind possesses various psychological levels, namely:
- Conscious mind
- Subconscious mind
- Unconscious mind
These there psychological levels represent the various states of wakefulness, which can be defined as alert, daydreaming, moderate trance, deep trance, and normal sleep.
- Alert is the usual state of body in which both body and mind are awake.
- Daydreaming is a light trance like state in which body is relaxing, and mind is withdrawn and imaging some activity.
- Moderate trance is the state of mind in which your eyes are closed; body is less aware of the things going around you and more aware of yourself, and with increased imagination and suggestion.
- Deep trance is the state of mind in which your body is completely relaxed and limp and your attention is narrowed. The level suggestibility is more in this state and you feel like illustrations are real.
- Normal sleep is the state of mind in which all voluntary activities of your body are stopped and even that you have reduced or absent consciousness.
The various stages in which hypnosis hypnotherapy can be done are daydreaming, moderate trance, and deep trance. A person is highly susceptible to suggestions in these state of mind, however, the amount susceptibility varies from person to person.
One person may be more susceptible to suggestions in light trance state of mind than others. For this reason, it takes multiple sessions of hypnosis hypnotherapy for an idea to take completely; however, even this number too varies from person to person.
Under hypnosis hypnotherapy, a person is induced with positive suggestions, with which the person want to continue after attaining the alert state. The hypnosis hypnotherapy suggestions are accepted in subconscious state, and these suggestions are repeated during multiple sessions so as to make the conscious mind to accept these suggestions.
The subconscious mind is more susceptible to accept the suggestions when the suggestions are positive, which it will use to counter attack the negative thoughts and images holding the person back from attaining his or her goals.
Hypnosis hypnotherapy can be used as an effective tool for eliminating your bad habits. It can be even used to induce deeper responses of the body and stimulate healing responses for pain and trauma.
